Periodic Table
Elements Unit

GRADE 8

These sites will help with the Periodic Table project in grade 8 science classes.

Chemical elements.com - An online, interactive periodic table designed especially for k-12 students which provides much information on the elements; both numeric and descriptive.

WebElements Periodic Table : Professional Edition
- As with the site above, this site gives a great deal of information about the elements.

WebElements Periodic Table : Scholar Edition - the same site as the Professional Edition above but meant for students in universities and other schools. (Not sure how different these pages actually are.)

The Periodic Table of Elements - - Clicking on the element symbol provides a tremendous amount of information, both numeric and descriptive. (Los Alamos National Laboratory's Chemistry Division Presents:
Periodic Table of the Elements: A Resource for Elementary, Middle School, and High School Students)

Chemicool Periodic Table
- - The information given by this site is mostly in numeric form.

Periodic Table of the Elements
--This site provides very short descriptions when the name of the element is clicked.

Periodic Tabl
e of Elements : Environmental Chemistry.com - - "This periodic table provides comprehensive data for each element (including up to 40 properties) and 3,600 nuclides (isotopes)."

"LUCID" Periodic Table of the Elements
--This site, from Louisiana State University, does not have information on each of the elements, but it does list some of the properties of the major groups.

Chem 4 kids
-
This site has a simple look and only covers the first 18 elements, but the information is useful.

The Periodic Table of Comic Books - This site uses comic book characters as alter egos for the various elements.

A visual Interpretation of the Table of Elements - This site looks very different from the others. It approaches the elements in a different fashion while also providing some of the same information which is available in other pages.
