Mohonasen Central School District Summer Math

Get Ready for Grade 1

Hi Parents,
Please choose at least 3 activities to complete with your child each week. It is fine to choose activities from any day, not just the date it happens to be, and we also encourage you and your children to come up with your own activities (budgeting for a family vacation, for example). Towards the end of the summer, have your child create a poster (this could be on construction paper, regular paper, or something unique) that describes or shows his/her favorite project.  She/he could show the product (say, a line graph, chart, etc.), write a short description (a sentence or two, maybe a paragraph), and/or take pictures of the activity (playing Monopoly, counting money, purchasing, etc.). On the first day of school, please have your child bring his or her project for posting on a classroom bulletin board.

Thank you and have a wonderful summer,
The Mohonasen Mathematics Committee
