In this age of geometric growth of information, there is a need to develop children who can collect and organize information and construct new meaning through reasoning. In an optimal learning environment, the computer is a support tool that helps the student in acquiring, organizing, and transforming information, and in communicating new meanings. Enhanced capabilities in these areas lead learners to enhanced ability to solve problems in their home, school, and work environments.

The goal of technology integration at Mohonasen is to enable and encourage meaningful problem solving through use of technology. Building computer use proficiencies, communication and reasoning skill, and positive attitudes toward use of the computer are components to this end state.

Learning outcomes regarding educational technology use are classified into three major areas. These are: proficiency in computer use, communication and reasoning skill, and positive attitude toward use of the computer as a productivity and mind tool. Development of these qualities facilitates effective computer use in meaningful problem solving.
